HipHop for PHP - Facebook develops software to speed up PHP

A blog post at Facebook Developers by Haiping Zhao, according to Facebook is a software to accelerate PHP development.

The software called hip hop transforms your PHP source code in C + + . The so-newly created source code can be followed with a C + + compiler converted into highly optimized machine code and executed. Hip contains a module for transforming the source code, a new implementation of the PHP runtime. Furthermore, the most important extensions written by PHP and can also be used with hip hop.

The advantages are obvious. PHP is easy to learn C + + very fast. This approach could better be used in future server and less resource intensive. The software is intended as an open source project at github be published. I have since found, however, not yet .
